LIST OF ISSUES

Education

I have been on the task force to help ensure universal PreK education for all Michigan children. I also support the first budget in over a decade to increase funding to all public schools in Michigan.

Housing & Property Taxes

I support legislation to hold corporate landlords accountable and ensure tenants have the rights they deserve. I also support creating incentives for communities to build more population density and increase our housing supply.

Property taxes in Michigan are broken. Prop A, passed by voters in the 1990's, was meant to limit the amount our taxes could be raised, but recent inflation has broken our tax formula and it needs to be fixed so residents can afford to stay in their homes.

Equity and Justice

Criminal justice reform has been front and center in my policy agenda. This past year we voted to pass a juvenile justice reform that will help work to rehabilitate are youth.

Healthcare

I support a public healthcare option for all Michigan residents. Healthcare is a human right, and health administrators and private equity firms are using our healthcare system as a way to steal money from working class people.

Environment

I voted to pass the largest clean energy bill package in the nation and have set Michigan to be on track for record clean energy development.

Now we are working on bills to get community solar options to communities in Michigan and hold our energy utilities to a higher standard.
